Product Details
Vixen's unique VISAC catadioptric design consists of a precision sixth order aspherical primary mirror, a convex secondary mirror and a triplet corrector lens, providing an exceptionally flat field and outstanding photographic performance.
VISAC achieves a photographic field virtually free of aberration, with coma, spherical aberration and field curvature perfectly corrected by the triplet lens. This yields star images of less than 15 microns across, edge to edge of a 42mm image circle - outperforming flourite triplets, Dall-Kirkhams and even Ritchey-Chretien optics.
The open-fronted design of the Vixen catadioptics considerably speeds up cooling. The VC200L works fantastically as either a visual tube or as an astrograph for serious astrophotographers.
This tube comes with a standard dovetail for mounting to either a Vixen SX mount or any equivalent. It's very hard to find a tube of this quality at a similar price point from any other manufacturer.
